Terms of use
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Runecrown ("we", "us"). They cover the Runecrown website, its Discord bot and everything that comes with them (together, "the Service"). By signing in, registering a guild, adding the bot to a Discord server or otherwise using the Service, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't accept them, don't use the Service.

1. Definitions
- Guild: a group registered in the Service, linked to one Discord server.
- Guild owner: the person who registered a guild. Management, coach, team leader and member are the roles a guild gives its people through its Discord roles.
- Content: anything put into the Service by a user or a guild, such as player names, builds, events, sign-ups, rosters, match results, statistics, notes, goals, images and settings.
2. Who may use the Service
- You must be old enough to have a Discord account where you live, and never younger than 13.
- If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- You may not use the Service if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have blocked you from it before.
- If you use the Service for a team, club or organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Your account
- You sign in with Discord. Keep your Discord account secure; anything done through your sign-in counts as done by you.
- Don't share your sign-in, sell or transfer access, or sign in as someone else.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your sign-in.
- What you can see and do in a guild depends on your roles in that guild's Discord server. Roles are set by that guild, not by us.
4. Guilds and guild owners
If you register a guild, you also agree that:
- You own the Discord server you register, or have permission to manage it, and you have the right to add the bot to it.
- You are responsible for your guild: who gets which role, what your guild adds to the Service, and how your guild's people use it.
- Before adding people's details (such as in-game names, Discord names, builds, attendance and statistics), you make sure your members know this is kept in the Service and are fine with it, and you remove a member's details when they ask.
- You keep your guild's settings correct, such as which Discord roles and channels the bot uses.
- You can delete your guild and all of its Content at any time from Settings › Discord. Deleting cannot be undone.
- One Discord server can have one guild, and one person can own a limited number of guilds. We may change these limits.
- If a guild owner leaves or loses access, we may, on request and with reasonable proof, hand the guild to another person who manages the same Discord server.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break any law, or help anyone else to.
- Harass, threaten, bully, discriminate against or dox anyone, or post hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise harmful Content.
- Post anything you don't have the right to post, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
- Use the bot to spam, mass-mention, or send messages people didn't ask for.
- Try to get into another guild's data, another person's account, or any part of the Service you aren't allowed into.
- Get around permissions, limits or security, or test the Service for weaknesses without our written permission.
- Overload, disrupt or attack the Service, including with automated requests, scraping or bots other than our own.
- Copy, sell, resell or rent out the Service, or use it to build a competing service.
- Put viruses or other harmful code into the Service.
- Pretend to be someone else, or to speak for us, Discord or a game's publisher.
- Break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, or the rules of any game you use the Service for.
6. Your content
- You keep ownership of the Content you add. You are responsible for it and confirm you have the right to add it.
- You give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process and show your Content only as needed to run the Service for you and your guild (for example, showing stats to your guild or posting an event in your Discord server). This licence ends when the Content is deleted, apart from copies kept for a short time for technical reasons as described in the privacy policy.
- We don't check Content before it is added and are not responsible for it. We may remove Content that breaks these terms or the law, or that we are told to remove by a court or authority.
- Statistics, ratings and suggestions in the Service are worked out automatically from the Content your guild adds. They can be wrong or incomplete and are for your guild's own use. Don't treat them as facts about a person.
7. Our rights
The Service, its design, code, name and logo belong to us or the people who license them to us. These terms give you the right to use the Service as offered, nothing more. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
8. Other companies' services
The Service depends on services run by other companies, mainly Discord (sign-in and the bot) and Cloudflare (hosting and storage). Your use of Discord is covered by Discord's own terms. We are not responsible for other companies' services, their outages or changes, or their content. Runecrown is not made, endorsed or supported by Discord or by any of these companies.
9. Games
Runecrown is not made, endorsed or supported by the publisher of any game it supports. Game names, characters, items and other game material belong to their owners and are used only to describe the games. The Service does not connect to, change or automate any game; it only works with information you enter or screenshots you choose to read. You are responsible for following each game's rules. We are not responsible for anything a game's publisher does to your game account.
10. Availability, changes and backups
- We try to keep the Service running and your data safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, fast, secure or free of mistakes. It may be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
- We may change, add or remove features, games or limits, or stop the Service. If we plan to stop the Service completely, we will try to give at least 30 days' notice in the Service so guilds can save their data.
- Keep your own backups of anything important (Settings › Data › Copy backup). We are not responsible for lost Content.
11. Fees
The Service is free today. If we ever add paid features, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you buy, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement. Features that are free when you start using them won't be charged for without notice.
12. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using the Service at any time. Signing out ends your sign-in; a guild owner can delete their guild; and you can ask us to delete the data stored about your Discord account (see the privacy policy).
- We may limit, suspend or end your access, or remove a guild, if you or that guild break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect the Service, other users or us. Where it is reasonable and allowed, we will tell you why and give you a chance to save your guild's data first.
- Sections 6 (your responsibility for Content), 7, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 19 still apply after your use ends.
13. Disclaimers
As far as the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise or warranty of any kind, whether stated or implied, including that it will be fit for a particular purpose, accurate, reliable, or free of interruptions, errors or harmful code.
14. Limitation of liability
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, or for lost data, lost Content, missed events, lost matches or rankings, lost profits, or harm to reputation, arising from the Service or from not being able to use it, even if we were told such loss was possible.
- As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, which for the free Service is zero.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
15. Indemnity
As far as the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses, including legal costs, if someone makes a claim against us because of Content you or your guild added, or because you broke these terms or the law. If you use the Service as a consumer, this applies only where you acted on purpose or carelessly.
16. Reporting problems
- To report Content that breaks these terms or your rights, or a security problem, contact us (section 20) with enough detail for us to find it. Please report security problems privately and give us time to fix them before telling anyone else.
- We look at every report and act where needed, for example by removing Content or blocking an account.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the Service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes we will give notice in the Service (for example in What's new) before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new terms; if you don't accept them, stop using the Service.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator of the Service lives, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to sort it out.
19. General
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over the Service, and will say so in the Service if that happens.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- If these terms are translated, the English version wins where they differ.
20. Contact
Questions, reports and requests: ask through the guild that invited you.
